The major construction on the Meditation Garden<\/a> was paused during the Covid-19 confinement period to prioritize finishing the living room area<\/a>\u2014a space for everyone to relax and exchange. Nevertheless, the team has continued work on the detailed technical plans of the project and is finalizing them.<\/p>\n

During this period so particularly marked by the seal of change and unsettledness, it seems more important than ever to carry on with the creation of this calm space made of up supports for beneficial wishes for all. Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, reminded last September,<\/p>\n

\u201cChange is inevitable. When the rhythm is faster than we can handle, everything becomes pretty overwhelming. In the eye of the storm of our natural conditions we can find environments like this one [at Dhagpo] where we have a feeling of confidence and trust.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The center\u2019s closing in conjunction with the current global situation seems to us like an excellent opportunity to now restart construction. The various businesses and artisans who are needed have said they are available, and they will begin starting July 6 with the noisiest, most disruptive step\u2014land clearing, bringing in the utility lines (water, electricity, lighting, sewage, etc.)\u2014and terracing all of the area around Shamar Rinpoche\u2019s stupa.<\/p>\n

Access to Shamar Rinpoche\u2019s stupa will be closed to the public during all of the construction, from July 4 through the end of the September<\/strong>. During this time, you may continue to circumambulate the white stupa of enlightenment in front the Institute.<\/p>\n

In parallel with this major work, the creation of the consecrated substances that will be housed within the granite bases of the eight stupas are already in the process of the being created. They are essentially made up of tree material and mantra scrolls of the five great dharanis. A dharana is a long mantra that summarizes one of Shakyamuni Buddha\u2019s sutras. The five great dharanis are the direct words of the Buddha and thus vehicle great blessing. Many of you participated in the creation of the mantra scrolls for Shamar Rinpoche\u2019s stupas.<\/a> This is the same step.<\/p>\n

Les jours de\u00a0D\u00fcchen,\u00a0nous c\u00e9l\u00e9brons un des grands \u00e9v\u00e9nements marquant la vie du Bouddha. Nous comm\u00e9morons ce jour le retour du Bouddha depuis les mondes divins de Tushita o\u00f9 il s\u2019\u00e9tait rendu pour transmettre des enseignements \u00e0 sa m\u00e8re, qui y avait repris naissance, ainsi qu\u2019aux habitants de cette sph\u00e8re.
Ce n\u2019est pas un hasard si nous c\u00e9l\u00e9brerons la cons\u00e9cration du nouveau stoupa de Dhagpo \u00e0 cette occasion. En effet, la forme du stoupa choisie par Thay\u00e9 Dorj\u00e9, Sa Saintet\u00e9 le XVIIe\u00a0Gyalwa Karmapa, est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment celle qui correspond \u00e0 cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement.
En ce dimanche 20 novembre, une autre cons\u00e9cration aura simultan\u00e9ment lieu \u00e0 plusieurs milliers de kilom\u00e8tres\u00a0: il s\u2019agit de celle du grand stoupa de Bodhnath, \u00e0 Katmandu, au N\u00e9pal. Le stoupa avait en effet \u00e9t\u00e9 endommag\u00e9 par l\u2019important tremblement de terre de 2015.
